3JP

DHD_3JP_081013
We had a grand time playing at the Three Jolly Pigeons this past weekend. Thanks to everyone who came out, sang along, danced up a storm, and helped us rock the place. A special shout out to our friend Felipe H. who joined us on blues harp for a blistering Texas boogie jam, incorporating everything from “Shake Your Hips” and “Spirit in the Sky,” to our batty breakdown of “Black Dog.”

Based on your awesome response we’re happy to announce we’ll be returning to 3JP on Saturday August 10, 2013.

Please join us and make it another fantastic party.

DHD’s Debut Gig @ Indigo Murphy’s

DHD_IM_6.14.13We’re happy to announce we’ll be working with Mr. John Bennett again in his newest establishment, Indigo Murphy’s. Please help us debut live music at this fun and friendly venue.

SkeletonPete’s sister-in-law Charlotte will be celebrating her birthday that night, and her husband Doug has promised to roll out a raft of BBQ goodies. Music, Food, Beer – a veritable trifecta of happiness.

Be in or be thin. Just sayin’…

There IS a Cure for the Summertime Blues

No matter what Eddie Cochran, The Who or Blue Cheer would have you believe there is a cure for the “summertime blues.” A delicious dose of your favorite music played live is a sure tonic for what’s dogging you during the dog-gone dog days. A few brews won’t hurt either.

Join us on August 11, 2012 at classic Bay Ridge Pub The Three Jolly Pigeons (6802 Third Avenue, Brooklyn) for a full mid-summer night of Rock N Roll.

Wicked Good Looks & Sounds

Dance Half Done, fashionable…? While we admit no one is likely to be accusing DHD members of being sartorially in sync we do recognize cool graphics when we see them. So, it’s a super treat to announce that our next gig will be played in tandem with a Fashion Event showcasing the designs of Wicked Threads’ Roberta Thompson.

From a delineation of the “Seven Deadly Sins” through her “Predator” and “Saints & Sinners” designs we think you’re going to find some tempting choices. You know SkeletonPete is dying to get his hands on that “Corrupted Skull” shirt. Check them out in advance at the Wicked Threads Online Shoppe.

Join us for the festivities on Friday March 9, 2012 at The Full Moon Saloon (8309 Fifth Avenue) in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. Music starts @ 10PM.

2nd Annual New Year’s Eve Bash @ Last Chance Tavern

Dance Half Done will be returning to Tannersville, New York this season for the Last Chance Tavern’s 2nd Annual New Years Eve Party. If you’re skiing the slopes at Hunter Mountain be sure to join us down the hill on Main Street for a perfect way to ring in 2012. Who knows, if the Mayan Calendar prophecies are correct, this might be your last chance to celebrate the turn of the year.

The Last Chance Tavern is part of a family owned space that encompasses a restaurant, cheese emporium, classic candies and antiques shoppe. It’s a great, cozy venue, with an expansive selection of beers. We had a wonderful time with the patrons and owners last year and are thrilled to be asked for a return engagement. We’ll be rockin’ yer socks off before and after the ball drops. More info. to follow.

ATIII: Rockin’ Acts of Kindness

DHD's Eddie G. with the All Star Band Rocked the house with some classic Judas Priest & Iron Maiden

The November 12th ATIII Tribute was a major success. Easily the most shining example of comradeship and community that we’ve ever seen, we honored the memory of our friend Anthony in fine form. From the musician’s who rallied their talents, the friends and family who cooked and administrated, The Three Jolly Pigeons Bar owners, and everyone who attended and pitched in, the “ATIII” Tribute accomplished its goals far beyond any reasonable expectation. Thanks and much love to all, you really paid this one forward.

We’ll follow-up soon with a full gallery of SkeletonPete’s photo’s from the event.

AT III Tribute/Benefit Line-Up

The ATIII Tribute is shaping up into what promises to be an amazing night of music and camaraderie in remembrance of our friend Anthony Trzesinski III. Along with individual sets from Dance Half Done, Wicked World and Mistreated participants will be treated to an All-Star amalgamation of AT’s friends and former band-mates playing some of his favorite tunes. There’s also a hint of heavy Machine-ry in the works. Nudge-nudge, wink-wink.

AT III: A Tribute To A Friend

Anthony Trzesinski III passed away from us last January. He was a fellow musician and life long friend to many of us on the local scene. A loving husband and devoted Dad.

On Saturday November 12, 2011 “AT’s” family, friends and former band mates will hold a celebration to remember his life, his comradeship, musicianship, and his ironic and sometimes outrageous sense of humor. Dance Half Done is honored to take part in this very special event.

Along with a classic set of many musical colors from DHD you can expect a healthy dose of Sabbat Noire from Wicked World, some very Deep Purplisms from Mistreated, and a slew of AT’s favorite tunes jammed out by his talented friends.

We hope you’ll join us at:

The Three Jolly Pigeons Pub,
6802 Third Avenue in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
Doors @ 7PM

Admission is $25, all proceeds go to benefit Anthony’s children.

More details to follow as the event gets closer.

Bay Ridge Fest – A Gyro-Scopic Sunday Afternoon

Six Turned Out to be Fine… We Don’t Mind

OMG – our planned 4 set extravaganza during the Bay Ridge Spring Festival turned into a six hour music marathon because you guys just wouldn’t let us stop. We always “come to play” and the energy and participation of the audience made this one of our favorite gigs ever. To those who danced up a storm or sang along to every tune huge props from DHD.

Pete and Ed strolled the fair before the gig, vendors were selling everything from sweat socks to sponge mops. They caught some smokin’ gyros and equally smokin’ gyrations from the local talent. All we can say is “It must be jelly, ‘cause jam don’t shake like that!”.

Mountains Crumble to the Sea… There Will Still Be You and Us

A whole lotta hugs and smooches to the ever lovin’ DHD battalion, band-aids, and family members who follow us everywhere and make our continued success possible. We love you all to bits. Plus, a big “boy howdy” to the loads of new friends we made. Your enthusiasm was a joy to receive.

Special thanks to Cricket and The Full Moon Saloon staff (Jimmy, Willie, Liz and Don) for giving us a home base for our musical projects over the last 10 years. A posthumous tip of the hat to Phil who took a chance and hired The Skeleton Crew off a dodgy demo and kept us coming back ‘til we called it a day.
